Sewing Patterns

1. Download your sewing pattern

After completing your purchase, your digital pattern will be available immediately.

Option 1 – Download from the order confirmation page

After checkout, click the Download button on the order confirmation page.

Option 2 – Download from your email

Within a few minutes, you'll receive an email containing your download link.

If you don't see the email:

  • Check your Spam, Junk, or Promotions folder.
  • Search your inbox for Sky Pilot or Tutu Studio Borealis.
  • Make sure the email address used during checkout was entered correctly.

Important:

  • Save the PDF pattern to your computer or tablet before printing.
  • If you experience any issues downloading your files, simply contact us and we'll be happy to help.

2. Printing your pattern

Our sewing patterns are designed to be printed on standard A4 paper using any home printer.

Before printing, make sure that:

  • Your paper size is set to A4
  • Your printer is configured for A4 paper
  • The pattern is printed at 100% scale (Actual Size)
  • Do NOT select "Fit to Page", "Scale to Fit", or any automatic scaling options

Adobe Acrobat

Select Actual Size before printing.

Microsoft Edge / Chrome

Open More Settings and set Scale to Actual Size (100%).

3. Check the test square

Before assembling the pattern, measure the test square on the first page.

It should match the dimensions printed next to it (for example 5 × 5 cm).

If it doesn't:

  • Verify that the pattern is printed at 100%
  • Make sure scaling or "Fit to Page" is turned off
  • Print again before cutting your fabric

This quick check ensures all pattern pieces will be the correct size.

4. Assemble the pattern

Once all pages have been printed:

  1. Arrange the pages according to the Pattern Map (A1, A2, B1, etc.).
  2. Trim the page margins as indicated.
  3. Align the pages using the center diamond markers and the page border lines.
  4. Tape the pages together.
  5. Once assembled, cut out your chosen size and you're ready to start sewing!

Accessing Your ZIP File

Sometimes the sewing patterns will be delivered as a ZIP file if there are multiple different sizes or patterns in one product. A ZIP file is simply a folder that contains all of the files needed for your pattern.

On Windows

  1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file (usually in your Downloads folder).

  2. Right-click the ZIP file and select Extract All...

  3. Choose a location for the extracted files and click Extract.

  4. Open the new folder to access your PDF sewing pattern and any included instructions.

On Mac

  1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file in your Downloads folder.

  2. Double-click the ZIP file.

  3. Your Mac will automatically create a new folder containing all the pattern files.

  4. Open the folder and double-click the PDF pattern to begin printing.

On iPhone or iPad

  1. Download the ZIP file using Safari.

  2. Open the Files app and locate the downloaded ZIP file.

  3. Tap the ZIP file once to extract it.

  4. Open the newly created folder to access your PDF pattern.

On Android

  1. Download the ZIP file.

  2. Open the Files app or your preferred file manager.

  3. Tap the ZIP file and select Extract (or Unzip, depending on your device).

  4. Open the extracted folder to access your PDF pattern.

Tip: For the best printing experience, we recommend opening the PDF with Adobe Acrobat Reader before printing.
